Competition Math

Our selective competitions program readies students for various national and international math Olympiads.

How it works

Personalized program

We help our students to find the right fit for their goals and needs.

  • We offer programs to both middle school and high school students

  • For both middle school and high school, we have two distinct levels: Advanced and Distinction. Advanced is open to all students where students will regularly engage with competition-level content. Our Distinction program is designed for those experienced in math competition preparation.

  • Students have their own personalized psychology curriculum to work on the skills that apply to them on top of their normal mathematics curriculum.

Curriculum

Our curriculum, rooted in psychology, integrates multiple standards seamlessly.

  • Our curriculum is structured around practice tests to prepare students for the types of challenges commonly found in such assessments.

  • We utilize psychology to teach information in the most easily digestible manner. This is through our teaching methodology and curriculum where we teach students how to learn.

  • To vigorously cultivate our students' critical thinking skills, our questions and solutions are grounded in Bloom's taxonomy. Emphasizing the cultivation of critical thinking skills over memorizing tricks is crucial for grasping fundamental concepts effectively.

Features

Our program bolsters students by amplifying their critical thinking and mathematical comprehension.

2.5 hours of class

The main class is online: 2 hours once a week for the actual class and 30 minutes in the middle of the week for a proctored quiz. Because of our optimized learning schedule and techniques, our teachers guide an engaging, challenging lesson. Students are proctored during class to ensure they are on task and produce work on their own without unapproved sources.

Excellent resources

Students are equipped with an abundance of instructional videos, text, and practice problem sets on our online learning portal. We encourage students to improve their metacognition and utilize strategies (that we provide) to be self-motivated, develop a growth mindset, etc. based on their personalized psychology curriculum.

Personalized coursework

We provide a personalized, psychology-based curriculum on top of their class in order to learn the emotional intelligence that is key to academic success. We also engage parents to help students keep up with their individualized curriculum with regular updates about their progress. Our community is supportive, positive, and fosters healthy competition.

24/7 Help

We utilize an interactive communication platform to seamlessly link students with teachers, ensuring round-the-clock assistance. Moreover, students have the opportunity to support each other, fostering a collaborative learning environment where prompt help is readily accessible. Not only that, all of our teachers are highly-qualified and have at least a master's degree.

Optimized, authentic learning

Restudying information at the optimal time amplifies retention by up to 200%, and we enforce it. We do quizzes midway between class sessions to encourage students to study soon after class before they forget the information.

Generous trial period

We operate with an open-door policy so you can lock in when you feel ready. You have the opportunity to receive a full refund within the first 30 days of your semester class. We have genuine confidence that you will love our program.

Competitions

We gear up our students for success in various math competitions. We focus on the following competitions: AMC8, AMC10, AMC12, AIME, Math Kangaroo, ARML, MOEMS, Russian Math Olympiad, Purple Comet, and Math Meet (middle school).

We teach our students how to perform under pressure

Having the ability to thrive under pressure is essential for excelling in math competitions.

The Research

We use innovative methods, and they have been proven to work by research.

Emotional literacy

"Emotional literacy programs improve children's academic achievement scores and school performance. This isn't an isolated finding; it has been replicated in various studies." (Goleman, 2021, Harvard PhD)

Effective learning

Emerging studies indicate that engaging in higher-order thinking enhances the development of prior knowledge schemas more effectively and profoundly compared to lower-order thinking (Liu et al., 2021).

Breaking the efficiency time-trap

Research indicates that students who have difficulty engaging in higher-order thinking struggle to interact with course material at the expected depth of knowledge in their program (Zoller, 2016).

Growth mindset

Mistakes are the inevitable part of the learning process. School children with growth mindset endorsement performed with higher accuracy after mistakes (Schroeder et al., 2017).

Higher-order thinking

After implementing higher-order thinking, findings demonstrate statistically significant gains in students' academic achievements and proficiency (Teemant et al., 2016).

Enhanced productivity

"People with well-developed emotional skills are also more likely to be content and effective in their lives, mastering the habits of mind that foster their own productivity; people who cannot marshal some control over their emotional life fight inner battles that sabotage their ability for focused work and clear thought." (Goleman, 2021, Harvard PhD)
